title Beauty and the Beast: A Latter-Day Tale client Candlelight Media Group, LLC (Orem, UT) timeline Six weeks budget $1000.00 The official B & B film site was more of a collaborative effort than my previous projects had been. The home page was designed almost exclusively by the client, so I set to work bringing out the look and feel of the film through design elements on the subpages. I matched the elegance and sophistication of the main character's house and furnishings with graceful script and serif fonts as well as delicate, intricate shapes. I also took the color palette from the home page down a few notches to allow the photography, typefaces, and graphics to stand out. In addition, I created the top two computer wallpaper designs on the "downloads" page. Beautybeastmovie.com received a great deal of traffic from the day it was launched, and CMG considers the site a success. www.beautybeastmovie.com (opens in new window)

title April & Mimi Enterprises client April & Mimi Enterprises (North Hollywood, CA) timeline 11 weeks budget $1,000.00 The entertainment industry already knows that it can turn to April & Mimi Enterprises to have any personal or professional request fulfilled, but Mimi Rodriguez had come to realize that several things were missing from her business. She was in need of a new, distinct, and more visually exciting logotype and Web site, something that would show their current and prospective clients what her business was truly about, and above all, something that would provide an easier, more user-friendly experience to Web site visitors. To begin, I created a completely new logo for April & Mimi, emphasizing flashy, eye-catching red and a star shape to communicate their dedicated service to the entertainment industry. From there, the Web site took shape in the same eye-catching hues plus home page content to keep visitors coming back for more. Interactive features such as fill-out forms were expanded to better ensure smoother business transactions for both vendor and client, and navigation was restructured for smoother user flow, culminating in the presentation of membership and service request forms. The result? “Everyone loves the new site,” raves Mimi. “It’s going over very well with our clients and site visitors. Since we launched the new site, we have had an increase in site visitors, and I believe that in just the few weeks since we have been up, we are at about 23,000 visitors. Carrie did a great job and we will refer her time and time again.”

title Freak Winds timeline Three weeks budget Confidential When I was first approached by theater producer Tamara Lovatt-Smith, she confessed that she’d been telling people not to look up her production company’s Web site! For Hair of the Dog’s upcoming United States premiere of the stage thriller Freak Winds, she wanted a site for the show that would not only generate excitement about the play, but confidence in the company’s public image as well. For those reasons, I chose to expand upon the imagery that was currently being used in the show’s promotional posters and postcards, resulting in a product that was unique to the company’s online marketing phase but still a recognizable part of the ad campaign. "I found Carrie’s approach and execution…highly professional, thorough, creative and timely," Tamara says. "I received so many compliments on the Web site and it was the icing on the cake for the overall production quality I was striving for. I highly recommend Carrie's work to any creative venture and look forward to working with her again on my own."

title Everything You Want client Candlelight Media Group, LLC (Orem, UT) timeline Two months budget Confidential When it comes to promotional movie sites, today’s movie buffs are more discerning than ever. They want—and need—more than just the basics, but in the case of Everything You Want, the basics were all fans were getting in terms of the film’s Internet presence. With a DVD release date looming, I felt it was important to create a promotional site that was truly engaging—a product that echoed the look, feel, and spirit of the film and provided visitors with exclusive information that would genuinely interest and excite them. As it turned out, Painted-Love.net was a hit even before it launched—initial response to my marketing survey was so overwhelming that an interim site had to be created to handle the activity. And what happened after launch? Nearly one thousand unique visitors and almost 40 mailing list registrations by the end of the first month, that’s what! www.painted-love.net (opens in new window)

title Honey! Creative client Honey! Creative (Los Angeles, CA) timeline Four months budget $1000.00 When their site launched, Honey! Creative was a fledgling commercial production house. Now, not only have they started up, but they’ve gunned their engines and streaked off down the freeway, taking some high-powered clients along for the ride! All Honey! was looking for was a simple yet sophisticated Web presence to showcase the projects they had completed for clients thus far. They came to me already armed with a company identity, an abstract “honeybee” concept in which the dominant color was black. So imagine my surprise when they announced that no black was to be incorporated into the site design! Luckily, a solution evolved over time—a more monochromatic color palette and an interface that recalled the “honeybee” stripes from the business card. Unfortunately, the folks at Honey! are now too busy to write a testimonial for me. But maybe that in itself is testimony enough....
